We offer you mountain experiences since 1994

1994

• ESPACIO ACCION is created in June by José Luis Antón, Joaquín Colorado, Alfredo Encinar, José Luis García, Francisco Murcia, Maximo Murcia and Juan José Ruiz.
  We are called as “Company of Mountain Guides of Madrid.”

1995

• Espacio Acción is the first Spanish company in settling down a program of activities during the whole summer in the Alps.
• Juan José and Alfredo decide to leave, and José Manuel Castro is incorporated to the team.

1996

• The volume of activities increase,considering the formative activitities and the guided climbings. We did successfully the ascentions to the Couloir of Gaube (Vignemale), ice falls in Gavarnie, or the West face of the Naranjo of Bulnes.
• We start to be members of the educational team of the General Management of Sports (Community of Madrid).

1997

• We develope programs of continuous formation to professionals (firemen, civil protection, etc.).
• Furthermore activities of “outdoor training” for specialized consultancies are designed, as well as campaigns of publicity based on climbing and the mountain world
• We also publish our PROGRAM 1997, our first catalog where our services are exposed.
  
• We substitute our presentation of 1994 for that of “Guides and mountain professors” .

1998

• Our partner José Luis García and another of our collaborators, Jesus Pereira, die as a consequence of a slide of ice-blocks in Gavarnie.
• ESPACIO ACCION is selected by the Community of Madrid to carry out the formation of new firemen that pass to be part of the GERA (Special Group of Rescue in Height).
• We introduce climbing training groups into small indoor climbing walls.

1999

• Espacio Acción moves to its own local in January in the street Sta. Casilda (Madrid).
• Espacio Acción is chosen by the Tourist Association “Valley of Benasque” to organize the 1st WEEK OF MOUNTAIN AND CLIMBING, inside the FIDEM (International Festival of Mountain Sports, in Benasque).
• We also design formative actions for the administration and maintenance of climbing walls (University Of Alcalá de Henares, General Management of Sports).

2000

• Our annual catalog reaches 52 pages. It includes the presence of the main marks from the mountain sports sector. Our presentation name is changed by “Formation Center-Guides Company-Technical Support.”
• The Reebok Sports Club Madrid and the Sport Center of the Stadium Peineta contract us to be in charge of their climbing walls.
• We are co-organizers of the Spanish Climbing Championship in Benasque and of the International Master “Villa de Benasque”

2001

• During the FIDEM 2001, ESPACIO ACCIÓN organizes,the “I feminine Clinic for high- yield climbers “, directed by the well-known American climber Lynn Hill.
• Jorge Puigmal is incorporated to the directive team of ESPACIO ACCION. José Manuel Castro leaves the company.
• The construction of the future Center of Formation and Training begins.

2002

• We give formation in mountain sports and climbing to Physical Education students from the Polytechnic University of Madrid.
• The Center of Formation and Training ESPACIO ACCION is inaugurated in April.
• ESPACIO ACCION trains the personnel of the National Institute of Aerospace Technique in vertical works.

2003

• ESPACIO ACCION intervenes in the “Master in administration and sport management” collaborating with the Spanish Olympic Committee.
• We also organize the 1st Boulder League 9x3 (current Climbing League of ESPACIO ACCION).
• The German mountaineer Kurt Albert, visits the Center ESPACIO ACCION and he gives a masterful class to the members of the Center

2004

• ESPACIO ACCION celebrates its 10th Anniversary in June.
• We are selected by the City Council of Madrid to intervene in the Congress “YOUTH AND SPORT”.
• The book “VIAJE A LAS MONTAÑAS” is presented in the Hotel Palace in Madrid in December . This book is the result of the combined effort of IBERIA CARDS, FOUNDATION TOMÁS MORE AND ESPACIO ACCION. The book is a tribute to the first Spanish climbers and also transmits the experiences that the climbers live on the walls.

2005

• Manuel Murcia,15 years old, member of the Juvenile Climbing Team of ESPACIO ACCION, receives the prize to the most outstanding sportsmen by the Presidency of the Community of Madrid
• We add a new climbing room (150 m2) in the Center ESPACIO ACCION. At this point, our facilities reach 1000 m2 of climbable surface.
• During the table-round “EVOLUTION OF THE RESCUE IN MOUNTAIN” taken place in the Center ESPACIO ACCION, César Pérez de Tudela, Miguel Ángel Vidal (UIAGM Guide) and Ángel Sevillano (GERA´s boss) give us an excellent opportunity to learn with their experiences and advices.

2006

• “ESPACIO CULTURAL” is inaugurated. It includes: courses of formation and conferences about mountain culture. It offers the best selection of courses, projections and conferences every month.
• We also inaugurate our Mountain Store in the Center ESPACIO ACCION.
• The IV edition of the Climbing League ESPACIO ACCION is held and it is the biggest climbing league in Spain, not only taking into consideration the number of participants (300 climbers) but also the prizes (more than 9000 € in mountain equipment).

2007

• At the present time, the team ESPACIO ACCION is well-known due to the prestige obtained by their members on climbing and on the mountain environment. Furthermore, several of their members have written eight specialized books and three climbing movies
